Rosacea, Redness, Broken Capillaries
IPL treatment uses a range of wavelengths to target various skin concerns including Rosacea, Redness and Broken Capillaries.
Both IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and laser treatments can be effective for treating rosacea and diffused redness. Both methods use light energy to target and reduce the redness associated with these conditions. However, there are some differences between the two treatments.
IPL treatment uses a range of wavelengths to target various skin concerns. The light energy is absorbed by the blood vessels causing the redness, and it helps to constrict the vessels, reducing their visibility. IPL can also improve the overall texture and tone of the skin. It is a non-ablative procedure.
Laser Treatment on the other hand typically uses a specific wavelength that is highly absorbed by the blood vessels. The laser energy penetrates the skin and selectively heats the blood vessels, causing them to coagulate, collapse and fade. Laser is more precise in targeting specific blood vessels, which is why it is usually recommended for broken capillaries as they tend to respond much better to the 1064nm wavelength.
During your consultation, we will recommend the appropriate treatment for you and your skin condition. Factors such as the severity of your rosacea or redness, skin type, and desired outcomes will be discussed and taken into account to determine the best approach.
Both IPL and laser treatments typically require multiple sessions to achieve optimal results. The specific number of sessions will depend on the individual and the severity of the condition. It's important to note that while these treatments can provide significant improvement, they may not completely eliminate rosacea or diffused redness. Regular maintenance treatments may be necessary to manage the symptoms over time.
